FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT KIND OF SHOW IS THIS?
LUMINESCENCE is part PERFORMANCES/SHOW, part ART HISTORY LESSON, part HANDS - ON ART LESSON and an EXPERIENCE we guarantee you'll talk about for some time!
SO... IT'S NOT AN ART CLASS?
While the hands-on, guided art project is the "glue" that ties the evening together, it is really just one element of the overall experience. So that said...
You WILL be creating some art.
But... You'll not be leaving with a cookie-cutter knock-off of Van Gogh's “Starry Night” or a barn board sign about “Living, Laughing, or Loving.”
You will, however, experience a rich, immersive evening of fun art history and professional guidance through some hands-on techniques in a unique venue that is purpose-built for this type of intimate, and exclusive event.
WILL I BRING A PAINTING HOME?
You may or may not be leaving with a finished art piece. (Likely you will!! Everyone has so far!!)
You will, however, be trying some art techniques discussed during the show and taking home a canvas with your work.
I REALLY LIKE BASIC PAINT-AND-SIP CLASSES. WILL I LIKE THIS?
or
I'M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS THAN PAINT-AND-SIP CLASSES. WILL I LIKE THIS?
We think “paint-and-sip” events can be a great deal of fun, and there are plenty of places that do that very well.
However, a fair complaint sometimes about “paint-and-sip classes” is that they are streamlined, and simplified box mix activities geared more towards boisterous, wine-fueled fun without much depth.
Again, nothing wrong with that.
At the opposite end of the spectrum are in-depth art classes for people who are focused solely on improving their craft. These lessons can and should be rather serious and not necessarily a great deal of “fun.”
TROVE ARTS SHOWS BRIDGE THE GAP between splash-and-dash paint-and-sip parties and deep-diving serious art lessons.
We have worked hard to create events that are absolutely fun and enjoyable for both the serious artist and someone just “looking for something unique new to do.”
